GEZE'S Stunning Sliding Solution

Two stylish, stainless steel, space-saving systems for glass doors have been unveiled by GEZE UK.

The new Aerolan and Geolan are already popular with customers of Rochdale-based OBG and the Geolan has made its debut in the UK at Northern Rail's new offices in Manchester.

The North's leading independent supplier of glazed partitioning systems, glass doors and office blinds, OBG, is enhancing its range of glazed partitioning systems with Geolan and Aerolan in addition to GEZE UK's full range of sliding and swinging door hardware as part of a high quality product package for commercial office installations.

Managing director Ian Masterson says OBG is now using GEZE's world-leading products exclusively because they combine the innovation, beauty and functionality that OBG's design-led client base demands. He comments: "GEZE UK provides the perfect complement to our frameless glass partitioning and can offer excellent service and support on contract specifications."

The contemporary choice

Aerolan offers a minimalist twist on a traditional wall mounted system, using a contemporary steel-finish slim frame attached to the ceiling or wall to support suspended glass doors.

Geolan is a floor mounted door system, making it possible for architects to specify sliding doors in buildings where wall or ceiling mounting is not possible, especially where there is a suspended ceiling or where heavy or extra large doors are required.

Making Tracks

OBG has supplied Geolan to Northern Rail's new offices in Bruntwood's Sq1 building, Manchester, where the innovative floor mounted stainless steel system was specified for two sets of glass doors. It forms part of a contemporary interior for the refurbished building, which has been designed and fit-out by Claremont Group Interiors.

The company worked with GEZE UK to provide an attractive, quiet and easy to use glass door solution for an area in the Sq1 building where wall or ceiling mounting was not possible. After discussions with Northern Rail and OBG, Claremont chose Geolan for its aesthetics and ability to take greater loads. The doors, which are 3m high, weigh approx 115kg and are fitted with 12mm toughened glass, were supplied by OBG.

Working with a floor area of approximately 8,500 sq ft, and ceiling heights of nearly 4m, Claremont was able to use 3m high runs of frameless glass, one of which depicts the inside of the dome in Manchester Victoria Station.

Matt Holmes, at Claremont Group Interiors, commented: "We are always looking for new and innovative products for our interiors, GEZE's Geolan enabled us to achieve a good looking, neat solution that provided a great platform for large scale branding."
