Success for doorset solutions for education

A partnership of three well-known companies proved a big hit with specifiers and contractors, when they exhibited a range of solutions ideally suited for educational buildings at the Building Schools Exhibition and Conference (BSEC).

“doorset solutions for education” comprised Leaderflush Shapland, GEZE UK and Lorient Polyproducts – all leading names in the door industry, within their own areas of expertise. The three companies joined forces for the exhibition, held at the Harrogate International Centre, which was attended by more than 1,000 delegates including key policy and decision makers from within government and education, architects and leading figures in the construction industry.

A full-size Leaderflush Shapland doorset was on display, demonstrating products from all three companies and featuring an attractive school design that has been machined into the maple veneer face to expose a layer of through-coloured MDF. A Lorient combined acoustic, smoke and fire sealing system was also fitted, including their durable and stylish three-in-one solution, Finesse™. GEZE’s new TS 3000 B slim cam closer, a surface-mounted door closer, which features a special cam action for easier operation also debuted at the event, ensuring ease of opening and closing.

The complete doorset provided a system of complementary products, designed and tested to meet the requirements of all relevant standards and regulations, including Building Bulletin 93, Approved Documents B and M, assisting with the vigorous demands of the Disability Discrimination Act.

Also on display was GEZE’s new automatic under floor door operator (UFO), a door opening and closing drive unit fitted discreetly into the floor for an effective and aesthetic installation. Leaderflush Shapland’s new Intelliglass system was also featured, offering privacy in glazed fire-rated doors with a straightforward flick of a switch.
