Taking a stand
From Munich to Cardiff, GEZE has been pulling crowds at exhibitions across Europe, catching the eyes of architects, specifiers and contractors with working demonstrations of its latest, innovative products.
GEZE UK joined forces with two well-known companies to exhibit a range of solutions ideally suited for educational buildings at the Building Schools Exhibition and Conference (BSEC) in Harrogate. The government is investing £75 billion over 15 years in the rebuilding and renewal of schools in the UK and the show brought together key stakeholders responsible for the implementation of the Government’s Building Schools for the Future programme.
"doorset solutions for education" combined GEZE UK products with those from Leaderflush Shapland and Lorient Polyproducts, both leading names in the door industry within their own areas of expertise. A full-size Leaderflush Shapland doorset was on display, demonstrating products from all three companies. A Lorient combined acoustic, smoke and fire sealing system was also fitted, including their durable and stylish three-in-one solution, Finesse™. GEZE's new TS 3000 B slim cam closer, a surface-mounted door closer, was installed on the door ensuring ease of opening and closing.
The complete doorset provided a system of complementary products, designed and tested to meet the requirements of all relevant standards and regulations, including Building Bulletin 93, Approved Documents B and M, assisting with the vigorous demands of the DDA.
Europe's key trade fair for building materials, building systems and building renovation, BAU 2007, took place at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre, attracting 209,000 visitors and more than 2,000 exhibitors from 44 countries including all the industry's market leaders. GEZE chose the event to showcase new products and designed an interactive exhibition stand, divided into distinct sections for each range so each display could be seen easily. A team of directors and managers from GEZE UK attended the event and the stand appealed to a wide spread of visitors from across Europe and as far afield as the Far East.
Managing director Andrew Hall said: "The stand was very impressive and the exhibition was well attended by key market leaders from all over the world. We were delighted to see so many important UK customers at this year's successful event - and for those that were unable to make it, perhaps we will see you at the next show in 2009."
Closer to home, GEZE UK also displayed a working model of the newly launched TSA 160 UFO at the 13th Annual Conference and Exhibition for the Royal Society of Architects in Wales (RSAW).
Built into a free standing unit for ease of demonstration, the unique working model of the TSA 160 UFO, automatic under floor operator, was a big hit at the only dedicated conference and exhibition for the architecture profession in Wales. It was controlled remotely, making it a great attention grabber as the 'door' would open whenever someone walked past - as if the movement of the passer by was setting it off.
Jules Quested-Williams said: "Both BSEC and RSAW enabled GEZE UK to raise the profile of the brand and a key new product amongst a targeted audience. The partnership with Leaderflush Shapland and Lorient at BSEC enabled us to demonstrate how our products can work in conjunction with other products to assist with the vigorous demands of the DDA."
